Who the Course is Designed for

The course is a comprehensive program designed for the meteorology industry, including meteorologists, climatologists, program managers in meteorological offices/institutes/companies/firms, BSRN networks, and meteorological sites. The course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to properly plan, design, commission, and interpret solar radiation measurement instruments using hands-on training techniques with OTT HydroMet instruments. It is also suitable for environmental monitoring specialists, scientists, engineers, researchers, and quality control/quality assurance personnel involved in UV measurement and environmental monitoring.

Description

During this course, you will develop the knowledge and skills to measure the following meteorological parameters: solar radiation UV, short-wave and long-wave, wind speed and direction, air temperature, air pressure, and precipitation. You will also learn to work with our solar tracker to measure the different components of the solar irradiance, namely direct, diffuse, and global. The course also covers working with our net radiometers to measure the radiation balance on earth, as well as an introduction to data processing. Participants will gain confidence in working with and programming scientific data loggers to read the measured parameters.
